A peek at 2009...

i am at the cabin and it is beautiful...cold, (-15F) but beautiful. the snow fell last night and there are a few inches trying to hide all the activity from the day before in the yard.

the sun is shining and it looks breathtaking. actually, it is breathtaking... and numbingly... cold. hand numbing, toe numbing and mind numbingly cold. i guess i used to deal with this kind of temperature anomaly when i was MUCH younger. now i am a fair weather princess. or at least fairer weather and i only really appreciate this weather while looking at it from a warm toasty chair in front of a fire.

there is a lil rabbit outside that lives under the neighbors porch and he keeps poking his lil head and body out...is he looking for food? or a predator? he has been around for a few years now and i'm kinda fond of watching his antics..both winter and summer.
note to self...toss out some carrots and lettuce before you leave...

i have a page on facebook...this is new to me. i think Kel and Ryan are a little chagrined but it is kinda fun. today, Marty saw how fun it was and now HE has a page...just one more thing to keep him tied to the computer...now I'M chagrined.

this is january and time for MORE unfulfilled new years resolutions. that part is very depressing. No resolutions for me....

i am writing in my gratitude journal, however. i am so blessed. it is amazing to me how many blessings touch my life on a daily basis. Kelly suggested that i keep a journal and although i've read numerous authors that recommended the same thing, somehow it carried more weight when she mentioned it. so here i am, thankful and happy and starting a new year.

so there are lots of happenings over the next few months and i will give a peek into 2009.

January is Ryan's Bday, skiing at mammoth, visit the cabin, Roger's Bday and on the 31st leave on a cruise from Shanghai to Singapore, stopping at Hong Kong, Cambodia, then three stops in Viet Nam, and then two stops in China before disembarking in Shaghai. i can't wait. 2 weeks.

February is traditionally the womens ski trip and whatever skiing we can fit in...

March, more skiing, Marty's Bday, Lauren Sonneman's wedding, Kel's Bday and more....

April, no plans as of yet but still looking to get together with friends...

May, lots of Bdays and so on...

That's a good beginning and during all those months, i plan to spend as much time as i can with Mom and Roger...Mom is doing ok. her altzeimers is still progressing and some days are better than others but i am so thankful that we found Maria and her posse to be "companions" for mom. it sure helps out Roger and frees him from some of the more grueling daily tasks. he is such a good man and i'm so grateful that he has stuck with Mom through all her downward spiraling. his health is stable an i pray that it remains so....

there are so many things to be grateful for in 2009...peace and blessings to all.
